Acoustic Telemetry - A means of tracking using a device that transmits a sound that is picked up by a receiver and computer from a boat or land. The timing from when the sound is sent to it being received is used to calculate distance.
Batoid - Flat bodied, cartilaginous fish. Stingrays, skates, and electric rays would be batoid fish.
Cartilaginous Fish - An organism whose skeleton is composed of cartilage, which is a more flexible material than bone.
Cavitation Bubble- A bubble of water vapor. In the case of the Mantis Shrimp, this bubble generates light and heat, essentially a small explosion.
